Portfolio

Take a look at my portfolio of customized party banners and accessories. These are snap shots of some of my greatest work and as you can see, most of my work stems from church events.

Birthday Banner

I designed this banner for my mother's 80th Birthday.  She loves the color green so I asked the guests to show up in their green attire!  Since the theme was green, I needed a corresponding color to accent the green so the background image on the banner was an orchid.  If you zoom in, you can see the pink coloring.  the pennants are a full page each.  I normally use a half page per pennant but there is no set law for creativity!  All-in-all it was a great party and the guests really loved the attention to detail as the orchid image was used throughout the party decor'.

 Church Anniversary

We had an outdoor set up for one of our church anniversaries. I love the use of the banners so much I designed banners for overhead and to dress the tables.  It was a windy day so I wasn't sure how they would hold up.  Overall the banners helped bring a certain "branding" effect so I used blue and yellow accents throughout the party decorations.  The other thing I love about using banners is that if we have other events, the banners can be used over and over again (if you take care of them) which makes decorating for events easy and economical.

Savor This Banner

This banner was actually one of my first banners I ever made.  The challenge with every event we put on at church is to make it unique and special on a very limited budget.  So I went to the internet to find a way to do this and stumble upon party printables.  This concept blew my mind and as a graphic designer it made perfect sense to give every event a designer look!
Appreciation Dinner

As you can see, I LOVE THIS STAR MOTIF!  Each flag has a letter spelling out "We Appreciate You."  I started out with the colors in the banner and then ran with it throughout the rest of the event decor'.  My only regret with this banner is that I could have made the font for the letters larger and more prominent.  It was hard to read from a distance so I pay close attention to the detailing of fonts and color choices.

Banners for Centerpieces

This event was a reception for women so it had a feminine flair to it.  Lots of pastel colors and floral accents.  Here I made several banners for this event and meant to hang every single one of them as borders on the tables but when I started decorating, I realized that I needed another dimensional piece to the centerpieces so I layered the potted plants with parts of the banners.  It worked out fabulous and it showed me the versatility that these banners can give to any event.

Super Hero Banner

My son is a Marvel super hero fan and his most recent birthday party I created this banner featuring him within the banner.  The background on the banner flags is an 'old-school' comic strip motif and my son's picture which personalizes the banner to the "T"!!  He loved seeing himself on the banner and his buddies couldn't believe his mother made this for him!

Minnie Mouse Party

I didn't have time to create the graphics for the banner and goodie bags so I found a free minnie mouse party printable and hooked it up.  The font was added and then I went crazy with the other details like making goodie cups (goodie bag in a cup) and a pin the bow on the minnie poster which I made by blowing up a minnie mouse picture at the local fedex (Kinko's) store.  This banner was one of my 1st banners created outside of my usual church function banners.

Welcome Banner

So for the longest, I've been creating banners, printing, cutting, and hanging them with just the paper I print on.  With this banner, I decided to add some dimension by using construction paper on the backside which I think not only adds dimension, it adds longevity and really helps the background graphics on the flags stand out.  I was pleased with the results.

Ministry Banner

Here's another banner where I added a second paper to make the banner more pronounced.  This was the launch meeting for the year and the Women's Ministry wanted this meeting very special so there were invitations handed out weeks prior.  A welcome banner was made alongside this one featured and the table dressings matched the colors featured in the chevron print on the banner.  I had a blast designing these decorations for that day and it was a challenge to not 'over do it' as I was told by one of the ladies...really?

Best Banner Yet

I'm having so much fun with these banners that I ask to do a banner for a little girl's 1st birthday party.  I knew the colors were purple and that the theme was a luau.  So I found a hibiscus graphic that had the purple in it and I went to town!  As you can see, I added the color paper for dimension and two different color curling ribbon is threaded throughout the banner.
